If you are keen on really discovering the secrets and beauties of Dalmatian coast and the islands, you might want to take up on this 15-day program, where you will have just enough time to really enjoy the nature, culture and history of Dalmatia in all its splendor.

Grand Tour of Dalmatia takes you through the best that the Croatian south has to offer. On the tour we will walk on the islands of Korcula, Mljet, Hvar, Brac and Vis and on the peninsula of Peljesac. We will also visit the Old Towns of Trogir, Split and Dubrovnik, which are all in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Swimming in one of the clearest seas in the world and tasting the traditional food and wine of Dalmatia are also one of the highlights of this program.

Weather & seasonality
Croatia boasts one of the sunniest climates in Europe, and some regions are notoriously free from rain. We generally travel off-season, so you should expect some variation in temperature and possibly some rainfall. Temperatures can be high, particularly on the July departures and can reach the mid to high 30s (degC).

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Split / Trogir (UNESCO), Croatia,

Arrival to Split airport and transfer to Trogir. Evening walk through the stone cobbled streets of Old Trogir (UNESCO World Heritage List).

Day 2Split (UNESCO)

Transfer to Split and a discovery of the Old Town – Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, listed also in the UNESCO list. Afternoon boat transfer to Korcula island.

Day 3Korcula, birthplace of Marco Polo

Morning transfer to the middle plateau of the island. A walk by the old Napoleon trail, passing through the fields of olive trees and vineyards. Picnic at the interesting reservoir of nature Kocije. Descent to the Old Town of Korcula and a stroll through the stone cobbled streets of this town often called ˝Little Dubrovnik˝.

Day 4 Island and national park Mljet

Boat trip to the “green beauty” of the Adriatic islands – island of Mljet. Visit of the national park of Mljet, together with its amazing green salty lakes and the monastery of St. Mary. In the afternoon, boat trip back to Korcula.

Day 5Old town of Dubrovnik (UNESCO)

Daily excursion to the Adriatic Gem, town of Dubrovnik. Here, we can visit the stunning City Walls, the Cathedral, monasteries and the Dodge’s Palace, as a center of power of medieval Dubrovnik. In the afternoon, transfer back to Korcula.

Day 6Pelješac peninsula

Boat transfer to the peninsula of Peljesac and a walk on the slopes of the peninsula, with great views on the island of Korcula. Descent to Orebic, a town of Croatian sailors, then swim and rest, before going back to Korcula.

Day 7Hvar

Morning boat transfer to Hvar island and a town of Hvar. Accommodation and a visit of the beautiful Old Town.

Day 8St. Nicolas peak (628m), Island Hvar

Climb to the highest peak of the island, St. Nicolas (628m). Afternoon free to rest on the beach in Jelsa or visit the nearby village of Vrboska

Day 9Central Hvar hiking

Transfer to Jelsa town, on the north coast of the island. Circular tour, where we climb the plateau at the middle of the island, with views on both sides. We arrive at the viewpoint in front of the St. Ante chapel, with a great view on the island of Korcula and the sea around us. From here we start the descent towards Jelsa, passing through old village of Pitve. In the afternoon, visit of the Hvar’s Venice – little village of Vrboska.

Day 10Rest day / Hvar

Rest day. You may enjoy one of the optional trips suggested by our tour leader – a fish picnic at the Pakleni Otoci – a small archipelago in front of the town of Hvar. Or you may climb the Napoleon fortress in the vicinity of the town, to have a great view from this 228 m high strategic point.

Day 11Vidova gora (780m) – highest peak of Adriatic islands

Early morning boat transfer to town of Bol, at the south coast of the island of Brac. Climb to the highest peak of the island VIDOVA GORA (780m). At the peak, we are rewarded by a stunning view of the surrounding islands of Hvar, Vis, Korcula, etc. Afternoon, transfer to Split and then boat trip to the island of Vis, town of Vis.

Day 12Island Vis – peak of Sv. Duh (563m)

A walk through the heart of the island, among vineyards and fields, climbing the second highest peak of the island – Sv. Duh (563m). From here, we have stunning view on Komiza village below us, the nearby island of Bisevo and the open sea islands towards Italian coast.

Day 13Bay of Barjaska / Vis

A walk in the wild and quiet area of northwest Vis. A chance to have a swim at the clear sea of the Barjaska bay. End of the walk in the village of Komiza, where we will have a chance to see the traditional life of Komiza fishermen at the local museum.

Day 14Bay of Stoncica / Vis

A leisurely walk to the bay of Stoncica at the south east part of the island. From the nearby lighthouse we have a nice view on the island of Hvar. Possibility for a swim at the sandy beach of the bay and/or lunch at the terrace of a small local restaurant in the bay.

Day 15Departure

Early morning boat transfer to Split and transfer to the Split airport, Departure.
